Allison + Michael’s 5 Boho Wedding features we love

Allison and Michael’s wedding was one to remember. Their earthy color palette, bold floral accents, and the unique details incorporated throughout, not to mention it was at a favorite venue of ours, The Mulberry in New Smyrna Beach Florida. Here, we've summed up the five features that stood out on their boho wedding day.

DREAMY DESIGN DETAILS

Details were important to Allison in the planning of her boho wedding and we absolutely adored the care taken to select each one. The florals cascading down the wedding ceremony aisle were truly memorable; as were the beautifully created invitations sent to each guest.

Some of the other details we loved from Allison and Michael’s wedding were found incorporated in their tablescapes.

Allison wanted unique touches on their organic color palette that would stand out. Her wire copper chargers did just that. These chargers were shining atop natural wooden tables, adorned with cream cheesecloth table runners, tall pillar candles, floral centerpieces (more on florals later!), beautifully crafted table numbers and menus. All of these details designed together created the dreamy boho wedding the couple had envisioned.

Another major detail of her tablescapes were the personalized menus. Not only was each menu customized to have the guest's name on it, but there was also different colored tassels tied in the corner on each menu. This was a clever way to identify what each guest's food preference was for the catering staff.

We would recommend this idea to future couples who are planning to have a plated meal. It not only helps planners and the catering team when serving the entree, but also adds a creative and fun element to the tablescape design. We love when our couples incorporate functional design elements into their big day!

The glassware at each table setting was also mixed and matched. Some guests had smokey black goblets, while others received clear and texturized goblets. This feature added that touch of uniqueness that Allison truly wanted.

Every table detail was carefully chosen and had a precise purpose to showcase the couple’s boho wedding vision on the day-of. Take a look at the stunning detail shots below photographed by the amazing Alex Michele Photography.

RENTALS TO RAVE ABOUT

Allison + Michael wanted every element of their wedding day to have a unique, boho wedding feel, so of course their lounge area followed suit. They chose to rent a beautiful 8 piece furniture setup from Trove Rentals, which included, two cane-backed chairs with black accents, a charcoal grey velvet couch, two soft sided aztec side tables, one gold center table, a tall rattan vessel filled with the fluffiest pampas grass, and a natural woven area rug. This lounge fit their organic color palette beautifully and the pampas added extra dimension to create a bold effect.

Having a lounge area allowed for extra seating, specifically during cocktail hour and late night mingling, while also serving as more as a great photo-op for their guests. Yet another, functional, multipurpose feature that we loved at Allison & Michael's wedding!

THE LUSH FLORAL ACCENTS

Aside from our wonderful couple and the incredible design details, a huge focus of the day was on floral. Their floral displays were oversized and incorporated warm, natural tones and tons of texture. Gather and Grace Designs really outdid themselves with these bold boho arrangements!

One of our favorite floral pieces from Allison and Michael's wedding day was attached to their circular ceremony arbor. It had beautiful palms and pampas with white, tan and light pink florals woven throughout. This display was repurposed to the reception area behind the sweetheart table, and a neon sign was added.

Another multipurpose floral element that we loved from this day were the stunning aisle arrangements. These were brought in and placed in front of their sweetheart table to create a truly spectacular display.

Each centerpiece on their guest tables was designed to mirror the floral arrangements from the sweetheart table to create beautiful continuity throughout the reception space.

The florals truly made Allison and Michael's vision of a dreamy boho wedding come to life. See for yourself below why we were in AWE at the designs!

A UNIQUE TAKE ON A GUESTBOOK

Allison and Michael were one of our first couples to have an Audio Guest Book. Leaving voicemails for the bride and groom! How fun is that?! The guest book was placed in the lounge area so while guests were in groups taking photos they could leave a message of encouragement and love for the bride and groom. We are so glad this trend has caught on and so many of our clients are incorporating audio guest books on their big day.

This unique touch will for sure be a memory Allison and Michael cherish forever.

DECADENT DESSERT BAR

Last, but certainly not least, on our review of Allison and Michael's wedding details is their dessert bar. Not only did they have an understated, yet beautiful two tier cake decorated with fresh floral, they also incorporated mini dessert shooters, cookies, cupcakes, and a few other sweet treats for guests to enjoy.

Allison and Michael’s entire wedding was truly an honor to be a part of. From all the unique touches, to working with this incredible vendor team, we loved bringing this vision to life. We hope Allison and Michael’s special day inspires you in designing your own dream boho wedding!
